Get Back on Track

Mood : busy

Just because you stuffed your face this past weekend doesn’t mean you have to be off track the whole week. Get back on track first thing Monday morning by NOT skipping breakfast. Start the day with a filling, low-calorie breakfast like a bowl of oatmeal or cereal that has 150 calories and no less than 4 grams dietary fiber per serving. Pair it with skim milk and fruit, instead of juice for added fiber so you’ll feel fuller on fewer calories.

Keep it up the rest of the week!

How to get Killer Abs

Mood : amused

Swimsuit season is rapidly approaching! For some of you it’s already here! So its definitely time to shape up that midsection. The most effective way to do this is by doing the criss-cross! This excercise is the quintessential Pilates ab sculptor because it strongly challenges all aspects of the core at once.

To do the criss-cross forst you lie on back with left knee bent towards chest and right leg extended up off floor. Place hands behind head. Curl head, neck, and shoulders up off floor. Rotate from middle so that right shoulder is pointing towards left knee. Hold one breath then slowly rotate to other side by bending right knee and extending left leg as left elbow moves towards right knee. Continue alternating to complete set. Repeat 6 to 8 times on each side.

Keep it up for some killer abs this summer!

How to get Hair like Catherine Zeta-Jones

Mood : awake

Catherine Zeta- Jones has BEAUTIFUL hair! She admits to using caster oil to dampen her locks and amp up the shine factor. Caster oil can be added to your conditioner in the shower or brushed through wet hair. The smell isn’t pleasant, but it does keep hair lustrous and healthy. If it works for a high-powered celeb like Catherine Zeta-Jones, it must be good!

Facial for Less!

Mood : cheerful

So you want an at-home facial, but can’t bring yourself to spend the extra money on that expensive face mask? Well here’s a thrifty tip: go to the medicine cabinet and grab a bottle of Pepto Bismol! Apply the chalky pink substance to your face and let its salicylic acid, a great facial peel, do its duty. Some believe that Pepto may be even milder and gentler than most commercial salicylic products because the same ingredients that coats your tummy also coats the face. Neat trick, huh?

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Wrinkle Secret

Mood : calm

Ever thought to yourself what great skin the stars have? Well one of the stars, Gwenyth Paltrow released her wrinkle-removing secret: a venom-like synthetic ingredient called Syn-Ake, which is a key element in her UltraLuxe 9 facial cream. YIKES! Snake venom on your skin?! Sounds a bit risky to me. And to top it all off, this magic cream costs nearly $185 an ounce. I guess if it’s that expensive, it must do something!

Butt Cream for your Face?

Mood : bouncy

Ok this is gross!! I just read that a secret trick beauty queens use to reduce wrinkles is to dab a small amount of butt cream under their eyes to reduce bags and dark circles after a long night! EW! Apparently they use Preparation H, which is marketed to treat hemmeroids. The maker of Preparation H, states that the product is not to be applied on the face. Well this isn’t stopping the beauty queens! Would you put butt cream on your face?

Four Easy Ways to Cut Calories

Mood : complacent

Losing weight doesn’t have to be a confusing science project. Here are four easy ways to cut calories without doing the math:
1. Bottoms Out! Shaving off the bottom of the pie crust decreases the damage by 100 calories and you won’t even know it’s missing.
2. Losing Liquid! Replacing an 8-ounce soda with seltzer saves you 100 calories a pop. Also, try substituting a glass of water and an orange for your morning OJ.
3. Go Skinless! Pulling the skin from a serving of poultry instantly trims 100 calories. Hint: To keep your meat moist, do the peeling after cooking it.
4. Serving Sizes! The typical restaurant side dish is at least four times the recommended amount. Dole out a single serving — about the size of a tennis ball — and spare yourself hundreds of extra calories.

Spring Cleaning your Closet

Mood : blah

So when you’re cleaning out your closet this spring here are a few things to keep in mind about this season’s trends:

1. Belted dresses: Go ahead and keep that adorable baby doll dress you bought last spring. But to keep it up to date with this season just grab a belt — preferably with a metallic finish — cinch the waist and you’ll bring the look into this season.

2. Femininity: You can toss that menswear-inspired blazer you have hiding in your closet. This season is all about femininity. Next time you shop, choose a jacket with a softer, slightly curvier cut, preferably in one of this season’s bright colors.

3. Timeless classics: Be sure to keep those style staples that get you through every season. There’s no reason to part with any of your basics, just ready them for spring with bright or patterned accessories.

 4. Vibrant colors:If you don’t have any in your closet, go out and buy some clothes with color! Color is this spring’s hottest trend, so get with the picture and buy a couple of colorful cardigans and tops.
