Everybody wants to look slimmer, but few are willing to take the time to actually get slim! So here are some easy ways to look thinner without any work at all:
1. Pouch-covering purses! Oversized bags can double as a stomach camouflage. Handy! (har har har…get it? Handy?) Steer clear of tiny purses as they do nothing for your figure
2. Big belts! Once you see what a good belt can do for your figure, you’ll want one for every outfit! Also a large buckle in the middle of your belt can further define your waist. Avoid small buckles, which create an opposite effect.
Tip: Dark, wide belts are especially slimming.
3. Cosmetic contouring! Make-up can make you look thinner when applied correctly. Apply a light layer bronzer around your chin, temples and cheekbones to contour your face. (And get a sun kissed glow!)
4. Embrace bracelets! Multiple bracelets in bright colors draw positive attention and hide thick wrists.
5. Skinny scarves! Colorful scarves around your neck draw attention to your gorgeous face! They can also be wrapped around your waist as a curve-enhancing belt, too.
6. Elongating Necklaces! Long necklaces elongate your neck, especially when paired with a v-neck blouse. Avoid chokers and other short necklaces.

Katherine Heigl has the skinny on how to get red carpet skinny! I can’t believe Katherine Heigl actually thought she looked overweight, but after seeing some unflattering shots of herself, Heigl says she was motivated to shape up and hired one of Hollywood’s hottest trainers, Harley Pasternak, author of the 5-Factor Diet. With his help, Katherine began circuit training and focusing her diet on fish and veggies.
Yummy…gotta love that fish! I’m sure she crash dieted the week before the Oscars, but fish works too.

Dieting can be a confusing adventure which may or may not yeild good results. So how do you know if your on the right track? How the heck should I know?!? Lol, what I do know are some of the diet mistakes many people make all the time. And here they are:
You eat too fast! You probably eat so fast that your stomach hardly has time to alert your brain that you’re full! Solution: Try this during your next meal. On every bite, chew, swallow, put down your fork, and take a sip of water.
You don’t eat enough! Slashing too many calories, particularly protein calories, pushes the body to conserve calories rather than burn them. Solution: Make sure you’re eating at least 1,600 to 1,800 calories each day to keep your metabolism from shutting down.
You aren’t getting enough sleep! Sleep deprivation decreases the odds of shedding blubber and keeping it off. Solution: Hit the sack for 8 hours each and every night and establish a regular bedtime and waking hour.
Too much processed foods! Most processed breads and cereals contain little fiber, the calorie-free component of plant foods that fills you up. Solution: Cut down on the potato chips and the white bread. Try whole grain instead. Whole-grain cereals, nuts, and beans are blame-free, if not calorie-free.
You don’t get enough water! You need water to flush the waste products your body makes when it breaks down fat for energy, or when it processes protein. You need it to transport nutrients to your muscles. Solution: Start the day by filling up a half-gallon jug with water. Your goal is to drain it by the end of the day!
You don’t cook! Even if you can’t cook now, it’s never too late to learn. I’m sure your mother would love to show you the basics! Solution: Step into the kitchen and open your freezer. Here you will find many frozen veggies (and other healthy treats) that don’t take more than a microwave to make!
You burn less than you eat! Exercise alone won’t make you thin. Don’t eat more than you burn off during exercise. Solution: Controlling portion size is absolutely essential to weight loss. And the best way to control portion size is to limit how often you eat out.

I saw the best article today which gave readers the 100 smartest diet tips out there today. Good deal! All the tips are from registered dieticians whose job it is to turn complex nutrition research into doable plans for real people. Sweet…I’m a real person! Bring on the tips! Here are the top five tips on the big list:
1. Add just one fruit or veggie serving daily. Get comfortable with that, and then add an extra serving until you reach 8 to 10 a day.
2. Eat at least two servings of a fruit or veggie at every meal.
3. Resolve never to supersize your food portions — unless you want to supersize your clothes.
4. Make eating purposeful, not mindless. Whenever you put food in your mouth, peel it, unwrap it, plate it and sit. Engage all of the senses in the pleasure of nourishing your body.
5. Start eating a big breakfast. It helps you eat fewer total calories throughout the day.

I read online today that it is better to have an ice cold beer after a work out rather than water. HUH?? I thought alcohol dehydrated you! How can this be? Lol, but the article said that as long as the rest of your diet is well balanced, having a beer once in a while won’t hurt you. So spoil yourself a bit and try it out!
