Four Easy Ways to Cut Calories
April 4th, 2008
Losing weight doesn’t have to be a confusing science project. Here are four easy ways to cut calories without doing the math:
1. Bottoms Out! Shaving off the bottom of the pie crust decreases the damage by 100 calories and you won’t even know it’s missing.
2. Losing Liquid! Replacing an 8-ounce soda with seltzer saves you 100 calories a pop. Also, try substituting a glass of water and an orange for your morning OJ.
3. Go Skinless! Pulling the skin from a serving of poultry instantly trims 100 calories. Hint: To keep your meat moist, do the peeling after cooking it.
4. Serving Sizes! The typical restaurant side dish is at least four times the recommended amount. Dole out a single serving — about the size of a tennis ball — and spare yourself hundreds of extra calories.
