If you are going through cancer right now, I am sure you are saying to yourself…… I still want to feel & look beautiful when I am coping with cancer, but how? I certainly did when I had cancer. Everyone wants to feel good about themselves, but it’s critical for cancer patients. Here are a few tips I hope will help you feel better about yourself…

I am starting chemotherapy treatments soon and will lose my hair. What can I do to prepare myself for this scary experience?
Losing your hair is an extremely emotional experience and there are things you can do to prepare yourself. Experiment with scarfs, hats and wigs. If you choose to wear a wig, try a Feke wig. Feke wigs can often be found at your local mall (located at a kiosk). Their wigs are adjustable, and are of good quality. Try to avoid ordering hats online. You really don’t know how well a hat will work unless you try it and head sizes vary. If choosing a hat, find one that is well made and will be comfortable. Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, and Anne Taylor are all great places to start your hat searching. Being prepared before losing your hair can put you more at ease when it occurs and give you the confidence to deal with this challenging situation.

Eye Brows

I lost my eyebrows and eyelashes during chemotherapy. What can I do to replace them?

You can use an eyebrow pencil and eye shadow to create new eyebrows. They also have fake eyebrows which you can order online. Drug stores carry false eyelashes, but they often irritate your eyes from the sensitivity due to the chemotherapy.
