Top Diet Mistakes

Dieting can be a confusing adventure which may or may not yeild good results. So how do you know if your on the right track? How the heck should I know?!? Lol, what I do know are some of the diet mistakes many people make all the time. And here they are:

You eat too fast! You probably eat so fast that your stomach hardly has time to alert your brain that you’re full! Solution: Try this during your next meal. On every bite, chew, swallow, put down your fork, and take a sip of water.

You don’t eat enough! Slashing too many calories, particularly protein calories, pushes the body to conserve calories rather than burn them. Solution: Make sure you’re eating at least 1,600 to 1,800 calories each day to keep your metabolism from shutting down.

You aren’t getting enough sleep! Sleep deprivation decreases the odds of shedding blubber and keeping it off. Solution: Hit the sack for 8 hours each and every night and establish a regular bedtime and waking hour.

Too much processed foods! Most processed breads and cereals contain little fiber, the calorie-free component of plant foods that fills you up. Solution: Cut down on the potato chips and the white bread. Try whole grain instead. Whole-grain cereals, nuts, and beans are blame-free, if not calorie-free.

You don’t get enough water! You need water to flush the waste products your body makes when it breaks down fat for energy, or when it processes protein. You need it to transport nutrients to your muscles. Solution: Start the day by filling up a half-gallon jug with water. Your goal is to drain it by the end of the day!

You don’t cook! Even if you can’t cook now, it’s never too late to learn. I’m sure your mother would love to show you the basics! Solution: Step into the kitchen and open your freezer. Here you will find many frozen veggies (and other healthy treats) that don’t take more than a microwave to make!

You burn less than you eat! Exercise alone won’t make you thin. Don’t eat more than you burn off during exercise. Solution: Controlling portion size is absolutely essential to weight loss. And the best way to control portion size is to limit how often you eat out.
